What is Spiritual Direction
For me, spiritual direction is always storytelling… -Margaret Guenther
Spiritual Direction is an ancient Christian tradition of holy listening. The tradition has been kept alive in the Catholic church, and is growing in practice in the protestant church today. Spiritual Direction is a relational process in which one person listens to and companions someone who desires a deeper relationship with God.
Hi! I am Dawn Luecke
I am a certified spiritual director in Washington DC. I come to Spiritual Direction as a city dweller, a creator of spaces, a mom, and a seeker of the sacred in ordinary life.
My desire is to offer an hospitable, beautiful, contemplative space where we can take a deep breath, orient our hearts toward God, and dwell in God’s love. If this sounds like what you are looking for, please be in touch.

Seek God and Wonder about His goodness
In the search for God, one often encounters moments of profound wonder and questioning. We wonder about His goodness and love in the midst of our daily lives. Seek God in the midst of our lives to see where we are encountering Him, not for the answers but to know Him more deeply.

Receive direction
“Spiritual direction is essentially a relationship in which God is at work using one person to help another on the journey of faith.” - Peter Ball
My experience with spiritual direction, receiving and offering has been a gift as I grow in my love of the Lord. I believe that the Holy Spirit is the director, and in direction we can sit together, share stories of the ordinary and sacred, and see what God is doing to weave that story with His own love for you.
